One of the state’s foremost experts on Aboriginal art was in Shepparton yesterday to encourage locals to enter the upcoming Victorian Indigenous Art Awards.
Visiting Shepparton’s Gallery Kaiela, VIAA curator Nicholas Boseley said local artists were well-placed for success at the awards.
“Just stepping in here I can already see a few works that would do quite well,” Mr Boseley said.
“Artists have a good chance from the Shepparton area because there’s such a large Aboriginal population here and so many promising artists.”
