Today on Breakfast, we discovered more about the art of the Utopian community which is located in the Northern Territory. A local exhibition opened over the weekend, and you too have the chance to experience the incredible storytelling that happens through this art.
The exhibition is a collection owned by now Carroll local Liz Turner. Liz and her husband were the storekeepers on a property near the Utopian region, and were able to purchase and collect some amazing art works, the likes not seen outside the big city galleries very often. The works are for sale, and ten percent of the purchase price will be donated back into the Utopian art community.
Helene Hunt, a local artist opened the exhibition on Saturday night and spoke about Liz’s collection of Australian Indigenous art to a group of very impressed locals.
