Sarrita and Tarisse King will pay homage to their father, the highly respected artist and elder, William (Bill) King Jungala (1966 “ 2007), in a powerful exhibition at Kate Owen Gallery. The exhibition opens from 6 “ 8pm on 7th May (continuing until 31st May) and is a striking display of this indigenous family’s talent.
Of particular interest are several large scale works that Bill was unable to complete in his lifetime. But now his daughters have given these canvases new life as rich collaborative works. The girls have woven their own styles with that of their father, to produce fascinating interplays of colour, design, heritage and spirit.
Individual works by all three artists will also be exhibited. Ranging from small to very large works, the common thread in this exhibition is a shared family talent and passion for painting: all works are vibrant, striking and contemporary.
