An exciting opportunity exists for an, energetic and dedicated arts professional to organize and manage the operations of an emerging Aboriginal art centre in Roebourne, Western Australia – on the Pilbara coast, 1500 kilometres from Perth. The position involves management of all aspects of the art centre including cultural and artistic development, artist support, administration, financial management, servicing an indigenous governing body, and marketing of the Art Centre in liaison with the Executive Committee and the artists.

Active artists include Jack Alexander, Pansy Hicks, Rex Churnside, Yvonne Williams and Violet Samson.

We are a community controlled and governed Aboriginal art centre based in the West Pilbara, close to the Burrup Peninsular, our membership is diverse and includes Ngarluma, Yindjibarndi, Guruma, Banjyima, Marthuthinira, and Nyamal people .We work with artists and craftspeople in Roebourne, Nguruwaana, Karratha, and Wickham. Roebourne Art Group is funded through the Department of Water, Heritage and the Arts Indigenous Culture Support (ICS) and National Arts and Crafts Industry Support (NACIS) program. We support the maintenance and transmission of culture through creative expression and undertake an inclusive program of bush trips, workshops and exhibitions. We work to extend the skills of our members by providing professional and artistic development opportunities. We also support income generation through our commercial activities.
