The exhibition, Private Treasures Public Pleasures Two, opening tonight is comprised entirely of works from private collections in and around Orange.

In all 37 collectors have loaned works to the exhibit, 20 years after the first Private Treasures Public Pleasures was held.

The exhibition showcases works from Brett Whitely, Rembrandt, Dorothy Napangardi and many others in a much more diverse collection than was first shown.

Regarding Aboriginal art

There are many more from contemporary collections and a lot more Aboriginal art … which is really the most recognisable Australian art for the rest of the world now.

Private Treasure Public Pleasure Two opens May 30.
