Description
This painting shows Jeannie“’s depiction of “œYam Leaves“, the Pencil yam plant which in the Atnangkere country in Central Australia, approx 500km north east of Alice Springs. The women use digging sticks or a crow bar to collect the edible white root, which is a main source of food during the winter months.
