Description

This painting depicts designs associated with the site of Kaakuratinja (Lake McDonald) in Central Australia. In mythological times, a large group of Tingari men, both young and old, travelled to this site from Kulkuta further to the west. A fierce hail-storm occurred that killed them all.
The Tingari are a group of mythical characters of the Dreaming who travelled over vast stretches of the country, performing rituals and creating and shaping particular sites.
