Our Metro Mob 2010

Tandanya is proud to announce the opening of Our Metro Mob 2010 Exhibition as part of the Sala Festival Program.

The ˜Our Metro Mob’ exhibition features Adelaide based Aboriginal emerging and established artists showcasing contemporary, vibrant, modern pieces from artists with backgrounds spanning from across Australia’s many diverse language groups.

The Our Metro Mob exhibition explores artists’ experiences and notions of Aboriginal culture, demonstrated through creative interpretations and visual representation by emerging and talented participants. The exhibition comprises of local artists utilising mediums including acrylics, ochre, jewellery and sculpture. These works encapsulate identity, connectedness and provide meaning for the artists Aboriginality and give the viewer insight into story, concepts and celebration of Australian Indigenous culture and art.

The SALA Festival runs from July 30th to August 22nd in 2010 and provides a platform for South Australian artists to take part in events all over SA. It provides the chance to exhibit art, whilst providing pathways through community involvement and collaboration. The Our Metro Mob exhibition enhances the SALA event with its cultural content, offering artists the opportunity to present and represent themselves to the public at one of Australia’s premier cultural institutes, Tandanya-NACI.

The Our Metro Mob exhibition will be open for public viewing from Saturday 24th July to Sunday 29th August with the official opening to be held on Wednesday 28th July at Tandanya.
