The University’s Centre for Australian Indigenous Knowledges, supported by the John Clancy Bequest presents abiannual exhibition and auction of works by Indigenous artists.
The exhibition aims to promote Indigenous art and develop an appreciation and awareness of the rich and diverse cultures of Indigenous people in the country.
This year, the exhibition and auction will showcase works by contemporary Indigenous artists from around the nation; artists who retell some of the old stories in new materials and methods.
The exhibition will be officially opened by Professor Bill Lovegrove, USQ Vice Chancellor and President, at 1.00pm on Saturday 28 August.
Selected key works will then be auctioned (commencing at 2.00pm in the Arts Gallery) while other works will be available for purchase through the duration of the exhibition.
