Four new appointments to the Queensland Indigenous Arts Marketing & Export Agency ( QIAMEA ) Advisory Board will continue the provision of advice and expertise to the Government on exporting high-end contemporary Queensland Indigenous art.
Announcing the new appointments, Minister for Trade John Mickel said that the QIAMEA Advisory Board provides policy direction and advice to the Queensland Government, and brings Government and Indigenous Arts Community representatives together.
This helps to develop Queensland’s vibrant contemporary Indigenous arts industry and to expand international exporting, Mr Mickel said.
Following these new appointments, the QIAMEA Advisory Board will continue as a vehicle to enable Indigenous and industry representatives to contribute leadership and expertise in visual and performing arts, literature, research, design and emerging digital and electronic art forms, he said.
