A TOORAK couple found guilty of forging paintings by a prominent Aboriginal artist sold for more than $300,000 have been jailed for nine months.

Ms Liberto told the court she inherited five of the supposed Thomas paintings from her father who had worked with the artist at the Argyle diamond mine in the Kimberley and bought the sixth from a Swiss woman at a market for $100.
But after less than a day’s deliberations, a County Court jury found the couple guilty.
