An arts manager in South Australia’s far north-west Aboriginal lands says a record number of artists are working on the lands.

Skye O’Meara from Tjala Arts in the APY Lands says works from the Lands are now highly regarded and more Aboriginal people are getting involved.

About 20 artists will travel to Adelaide this month to exhibit their works at the Art Gallery of South Australia.

Ms O’Meara says it has become a stable way for Aboriginal people to earn an income.

“We have 30 to 40 artists painting here on a daily basis and it’s a place where one can garner an income,” she said.
