George Tjungurrayi: between the lines
This new show reveals an artist in full flight with a masterly control. George Tjungurrayi has moved
from a traditional perspective into a realm of his own. These paintings, when viewed in isolation, give few clues as to the specific society that they came from, but they leave us in no doubt that the man who made them knew and believed that he had placed within them the power to convince us of his conviction.
