2006 Dream Tracks, Aboriginal art of Arnhem Land
La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Art, Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain
From the Kluge-Ruhe mail out:
The final touches are being put on the first Aboriginal art exhibition in the Middle East.
The King and Queen of Bahrain have requested a private viewing of the exhibition, which opens in Bahrain’s capital next week. It will feature 45 works from artists in Maningrida in north-east Arnhem Land.
The director of Maningrida Arts and Culture, Apolline Kohen, is leaving Darwin for Bahrain this afternoon. She says the showing will be real chance for Indigenous Australian artists to break into the Middle Eastern market.
