The Desart Executive met in Alice Springs on 10 June 2009 for a strategic planning session. It was the second meeting held under the leadership of the new Chairman, Mr Sammy Lyons from Angatja in the PY Lands.
With the support of consultant Tim Acker, who acted as facilitator, the Executive re-visited Desart’s current Mission and Goals, and discussed how they envisioned Desart going forward into the future. Translator Kathy Tozer was kept busy all day “ as fresh ideas and suggestions were noted.
The board members represent the five Desart regions and come from right across Central Australia. They are from both established and emerging Art Centres and brought a substantial contribution of practical and cultural wisdom to the planning process.
