The second Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair is taking place from the 14th to 16th of August 2008 at the Darwin Convention Centre. Set up to coincide with the opening of the NATSIAA (Arts Awards) and the Darwin Festival, the Fair is another event not be missed in Darwin.
Organised by Maningrida Arts § Culture, the Fair only presents Indigenous art produced through Community based Arts Centres.
Nineteen arts centres from Arnhem Land, Kimberley Region, Central Australia and Torres Strait Islands will present a wide range of artists and art forms, offering a unique opportunity to discover and enjoy the diversity of styles and artistic expressions present in these regions. Paintings on canvas, bark paintings, timber and metal sculptures, limited edition prints, didjeridus, fibre art and jewelry will be on display at the Fair.
The Fair provides a safe and honest environment for Collectors and Art Lovers as the art presented comes directly from Arts Centres, ensuring authenticity and provenance of the artworks.
You will meet artists and Arts centre staff and enjoy the art in a relaxed atmosphere.
