The NT news reports on a new exhibition in Darwin:

The Behind the Wire art exhibition showcases the work of 35 prisoners created behind the walls of Northern Territory prisons.

This year prisoners voted to keep the identity of the artists anonymous, but some of the work is believed to be by convicted killer Dennis Rostron.

The article describes the exhibition:

There are 87 works on display at the Fannie Bay Gaol Museum as part of the Darwin Festival until September 7.

Many of the items are for sale with prices ranging from $100 to $5000.

Money raised from the sale of artworks goes to Victims of Crime NT.

Dr Burns said the prisoners had decided to make the artwork anonymous this year because they wanted the exhibition to be about the art itself, not the pasts of the artists.
