Description

Born at Haasts Bluff, Lily Kelly Napangardi is especially known for her paintings of sand hills and the effect of wind and rain on the desert landscape in country around Mt Liebig, Haasts Bluff, Kintore and Connistan.

In 1986 Lily won the Northern Territory Art Award for Excellence in Aboriginal Painting. She has also been a finalist in the Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards (NATSIAAs).

Her work is held in major collections, including the National Gallery of Australia, Artbank and Musee du quai Branly, Paris.
