Description
This painting refers to Samantha’s grand-mother’s country, south of Lake MacKay. There is a network of salt lakes connected to rockholes and some swamps during rainy season. These waterholes are looked after by Warampi, the rainbow serpent, making sure that some of these rockholes remain permanent. The different colours represent the different types of terrain found in this area; sandy, rocky and covered with vegetation.
