Description
Reg Pengarte was born in Alice Springs in 1966. He paints in a style typical of the northern part of the Northern Territory called rarrking or cross-hatching. The colours and design used are passed down within families.
Reg paints stories featuring common figures in his life and his ancestors from the Roper River area of the NT, such as kangaroos, birds, reptiles, fish and turtles. His works also depict how animals are hunted and with what type of weapon.
This painting features barramundi fish.
