Catherine Manuell Design has just announced a sensational collaboration with celebrated Aboriginal artists Amy (Jirwullurr) Johnson, Evelyn Pultara and Maureen (Murrarngulu) Thompson. Together they have created a range of extraordinary looking luggage and fashion accessories, available from October this year. To see the new range look under COLLECTIONS.
The three artists involved collectively have paintings shown at various major Australian art galleries including the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, and the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, Darwin, and are held by major private collections around the world including The Homes a’ Court Collection, Perth. The artists have also appeared in group shows as far abroad as London and Milan.
Catherine Manuell Design has established a licensing agreement with the three artists from remote Ngukurr, in Arhnem land and the Utopia region in central Australia. As a result they will directly benefit from the production of every item made. This will be an ongoing royalty for the artists while the product stays in production.
