FRANK Wright’s mission is to educate indigenous and non-indigenous children on Australia’s Aboriginal heritage through his artwork.

Previously resident on the Central Coast and now living at Walgett a sister city to Gosford, Wright will be the major featured artist in the Where Two Rivers Meet exhibition set to open at Gosford Regional Gallery on Friday night at 6.30pm.

Celebrating and promoting Gamilaroi and Yuwaalaraay artists with works reflecting the original mark making of their country, the exhibition will be on show until December 21.

The paintings depict legendary tales and the message marks passed down through the tribes and families of these artists. These unique marks are important communication tools and references for indigenous cultural heritage and record, and this knowledge is being preserved and shared in these paintings.

Also exhibiting will be Thomas Sullivan, Sue Hely, Kenny Ward, Dudley Gully Denis and Kevin Fernando.
