Top End Arts has been around in one form or another since 1999 when it was set up to provide arts organisations with joint marketing. It grew in 2004 from a Darwin focus to a Top End focus and began to do much more work with Indigenous artists and communities.

Off The Leash, which is one of our most important products, came about because local people told us they didn’t know where to find out about arts events and often missed out because they heard about them too late.

As well as providing information about the arts and creative industries to the public, through this publication and our online and email information, we also provide information and practical assistance to arts and cultural organisations. Audience research is one area we specialise in. We run visitor surveys for the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, and have done some similar work for Darwin Festival and for some remote community festivals.
