Description

Tjaduwa has painted Pirapi which is a soak area to the north of Tjuntjuntjara. In the early days when the Spinifex people were moving across traditional homelands Pirapi was a place where large groups of people would congregate when the rockhole water supplies had dried up. As a consequence of the pressures of diminishing resources many people in close proximity sometimes resulted in long awaited tribunal punishments.

Today Pirapi is en route to Ilkurlka and a place where people can still stop for water when travelling to the north.
