Every year, Manningham City Council acknowledges National Reconciliation Week with a celebration of indigenous culture and art.

This is the fourth year that curator, Megan Cadd, a descendant of the Yorta Yorta people, has participated in Reconciliation Week.

In putting Winyarr-Ngu-Bala: Aboriginal Women Give To You together, she has used the work of seven contemporary female Aboriginal artists. Cadd, a Doncaster East resident, is the seventh participating artist. The exhibition explores what it means to be an Aboriginal woman in contemporary Australia.

It acknowledges and highlights the diversity and strength in the indigenous female population, while acknowledging the influence of their ancestors.

Winyarr-Ngu-Bala: Aboriginal Women Give To You is hanging until June 5.
