Warmurunngu is the name of a site where women collect Kaarku ( coloured ochres) used in Inma (women ceremonies). When ochres are excavated and the spirits of the Karaya (emus) are released like Warlpa (wind) and take physical form. The concentric circles represent the where the emus stopped to drink Kapi (water in the Tjukurpa (dreaming time)

“There’s a wonderful sense of repetition and sameness versus variety and dynamism in form and line. it’s what I call an “ideographic thrill”, that is,
the gesture of the line seems to flip between visual language and visual form”…….”She has her own signature”
